About The Book
I WOULDN’T SAY IT IF IT WASN’T TRUE - STEVE WYNN, A MEMOIR OF LIFE, MUSIC, AND THE DREAM SYNDICATE. A vivid and revealing memoir from the leader and founder of one of the most revered indie-rock bands of the 1980s
Steve Wynn has been toiling in the rock’n’roll trenches for over forty years. I know. I’ve been working alongside of him for many of those years. Steve’s book really captures the life of a music lifer, the first bands, the good breaks, the bad decisions, the sense that the life you live is music, not your job. The Dream Syndicate is one of the greatest bands of all time, and Steve takes you along for the ride. PETER BUCK
Support: JAMIE PERRETT Growing up in an unconventional and chaotic household, it was almost inevitable that Jamie Perrett—the son of the man who wrote one of the 20th century’s most iconic punk songs, ‘Another Girl, Another Planet’—would find music as both a refuge and a means of self-expression. Despite the early success of his father Peter’s band, The Only Ones, Jamie’s childhood in South London was marked by extreme hardship due to his parents’ struggles with addiction.
Music became Jamie’s escape—a way not only to find relief from his surroundings but also to connect with his parents. In 2023, Jamie entered the studio to record a full album, bringing an even darker edge to his songwriting as he delved into themes of his childhood Now Jamie returns with a renewed focus, and a busy schedule. 3 releases are planned for the next four months; leading up to an EP release in Spring 2025.
Jamie’s music blends melodic rock with raw, infectious energy, resonating with vulnerability and honesty that capture his life story. His debut is no ordinary rock record—it’s a testament to resilience, talent, and the unfiltered truth of growing up on the edge of rock and roll.
